Description

Gates, gatepiers, and a balustraded wall were constructed in 1877 and are located to the east of the Greek Cathedral of Aghia Sophia. They are designed in a Byzantine style and made of terracotta. The structure features a low stuccoed wall that supports square fluted balusters with cubic capitals, which in turn support a moulded handrail. The gatepiers have pointed finials on their shafted piers.
