Description

Numbers 36 and 38, including the front garden wall and gatepiers, are a pair of houses built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of brick and stucco, with a channelled finish on the ground floor, and feature a Welsh slate roof. The buildings rise three storeys and include a basement, with a total of six bays. The outer bays have a vermiculated design at ground floor level and contain panelled doors with overlights set in pilaster surrounds. The sash windows have margin lights, and the second floor has glazing bars. The ground floor windows have lost their vertical glazing bars. There are keyed channelled lintels above the ground floor, with architraves and cornices on consoles at the first floor. Floor bands and a cornice are also present. The front wall is stucco balustraded and includes gatepiers, with No 38 featuring both gatepiers and a lintel.
