Description

A pair of houses located on Warwick Avenue, dating from the mid-19th century. The houses are built of yellow-brown brick in a Flemish bond pattern, with stucco dressings and a Welsh slate roof. They are three storeys high, plus a basement, and arranged with four bays in a 1:2:1 configuration, featuring a central breakforward and narrower entrance bays on either side. A balustraded staircase leads to panelled doors with overlights, all set within architraves topped with cornices supported on consoles. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars; the ground and first floor centre windows have margin lights set within architraves. Cornices are present on the ground floor windows, and there is a decorative sill band. The roof is hipped and overhangs. The property is linked to number 21 by a brick garage, and to number 15 by a stucco range. The houses are included in the listing primarily for their contribution to the wider group value of the street.
