Description

Nos 10 and 11 Clifton Villas are a pair of houses dating from the mid-19th century. They are constructed of brick, rendered with stucco and have a concealed roof. The houses are arranged over three storeys and a basement, with a four-bay facade arranged as one bay, two bays, and then one bay, exhibiting a slight forward projection in the centre. The narrow side bays contain entrances, accessed by a flight of steps. Each entrance has a four-panel door with a fanlight, topped by a cornice supported on consoles. Sash windows with glazing bars are present throughout, with some margin lights. A tripartite sash window is found on the ground floor of the central bay of No 11. Features include architraves to all windows, pediments on consoles over the ground floor centre windows, and cornices to the first-floor windows. The facade incorporates floor bands and a cornice. A railed enclosure surrounds the basement.
