Description

This is a pair of houses located in Clifton Villas, dating from the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of brick, covered with stucco, and have a concealed roof. They are three storeys high with a basement, and have a four-bay facade arranged as one bay, then two bays, then one bay, with a slight projection in the centre and narrower side bays. Side entrances are accessed by flights of steps and feature four-panel doors with overlights, all topped by a cornice supported on consoles. The sash windows have glazing bars, with margin lights to the ground and first floor windows in the central bays, all set within architraves. The ground-floor windows have a pediment on consoles; the first-floor windows have a cornice. The building features floor bands and a cornice to its upper edge. A railed enclosure surrounds the basement.
