Description

Numbers 6 and 7 Clifton Villas, along with the gateway to number 7, are a pair of houses dating from the mid-19th century. They are constructed of brick and have a stucco finish. The roof is hidden behind a parapet. The houses are three storeys high, with a basement, and are arranged over four bays, with a slight projection towards the centre. The narrower side bays contain entrances, accessed by a flight of steps. The entrances feature four-panel doors with overlights, sheltered by a cornice supported on consoles. The sash windows have glazing bars; vertical bars have been removed from the centre ground floor windows. Architectural details include architraves, pediments on consoles above the ground floor centre windows, and cornices to the first floor. There are horizontal bands dividing the floors and a cornice at the top. A railed basement borders the front. Number 7 has a gateway leading to its front garden, consisting of stucco piers and a lintel.
