Description
A pair of houses, numbers 40 and 42, with a front garden wall and gate piers to number 40, dating from the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of brick, with stucco facades; the ground floor is channelled, and the outer bays have vermiculation. The upper floors of number 42 are now rendered. The roof is covered with Welsh slate. The houses are three storeys high, with a basement, and have six bays. The outer bays each contain panelled doors with overlights, set within pilaster surrounds. Sash windows with margin lights and glazing bars are present on the second floor. The ground floor windows have keyed, channelled lintels, above which are architraves with cornices on consoles. There are floor bands and a cornice. A stucco balustraded front wall and gate piers are located to the front of number 40.
