Description
No. 3 to 6 (consecutive) Wyndham Place are terraced houses built around 1811-1815 as part of J.T. Parkinson's development of the Bryanston Square Portman Estate. They are constructed of stock brick with a channelled stucco ground floor and have concealed slate roofs. The buildings rise four storeys and include a basement, with each front measuring two windows wide. To the left, there are semicircular arched doorways featuring panelled doors set in pilastered modillioned doorheads, with jambs and fanlights, particularly patterned at No. 4. The upper floors of Nos. 5 and 6 have recessed sash windows under flat gauged arches made of red brick. The stucco work is finished with a plat band, and there is a crowning stucco cornice and blocking course. The first floor features continuous cast iron balconies with a geometric pattern, and there are cast iron area railings topped with urn finials.
