Description

Tall wheeled stone cross, decorated with Celtic-style knotwork carvings, forming the top of a rectangular pillar; the front face of this bears the inscription: (cross) / IN PROUD / AND / GRATEFUL / MEMORY / OF / THE MEN / OF THIS / PARISH, WHO / LAID DOWN / THEIR LIVES / IN THE / GREAT WAR / 1914 - 1919. / (cross) / THEIR NAME / SHALL LIVE / FOR / EVERMORE, and the back: 1939 (cross) 1945. This rests on a trapezoidal plinth decorated with Celtic knotwork, which in turn rests on a much larger trapezoidal plinth, all four faces of which bear the names of the Fallen. The whole rests on a two-step base.
