Description

The Lickey War Memorial is a gabled cross made of Portland stone, featuring a detailed sculpture of Christ with an INRI scroll. This cross is positioned on an octagonal pillar that sits atop a plinth. The right and left sides of the plinth display the names of the Fallen, while the front side has the inscription: "TO THE GLORY OF GOD / AND IN MEMORY OF / THE MEN OF THIS / PARISH WHO FELL IN / THE GREAT WAR / 'GREATER LOVE HATH / NO MAN THAN THIS'." The plinth is supported by a stone platform, which has a stone panel on the front inscribed with "1939 - 1945 / (names)." The entire structure is located on a small paved area within a grassed space.
