Description
The Benhilton War Memorial features a gabled cross atop a tall shaft, which includes a partially eroded sculpture of Christ with an INRI scroll. This sculpture is set on a plinth that has a partially eroded inscription on the front face, which reads: "IN MEMORY OF THOSE / WHO FROM / THIS PARISH AND CONGREGATION / LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES / FOR THEIR KING AND COUNTRY / 1914 - 1918 / FOR ALL LIVE UNTO THEE / LUKE XX 38." The right and left faces of the plinth display the names of the Fallen. The plinth is supported by a three-step base, with the top two tiers being octagonal in shape.
