Description

The Chirbury War Memorial is a tall gabled sandstone cross featuring a sculpture of Christ with an INRI scroll. The front face of the lower section of the cross has the inscription "REMEMBER YE / [illegible] LORD." It stands on a plinth, which has the inscription "ALL THESE / FROM THIS PARISH WHO FELL FOR / KING AND COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR / 1914 - 1918 / (names)." This plinth is supported by another plinth that bears additional names. The entire structure is set on a stone platform.
