Description
152 to 160 Brixton Road is an early to mid-19th century restored tall terrace, consisting of four storeys and a basement. Each house has either two or three windows, with No. 160 featuring three windows while the others have two. This symmetrical terrace has lost its northern end, and Nos. 154 and 160 project slightly from the main line of the terrace. The buildings are constructed of yellow stock brick and feature a stucco frieze, cornice, and blocking course, along with a cill band on the second floor and a rusticated ground floor and basement. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are topped with gauged flat brick arches. The first floor has patterned cast iron balconies, and the ground floor windows are set in moulded architraves, with some being round-headed in round-arched recesses. The steps leading to the doors, which have either one or two panels in panelled reveals with fanlights—some of which are patterned—are rebuilt and sit under a moulded architrave with a key block.
