Description
Nos 1 and 2 Pilgrim Hill is an early to mid-19th century pair of houses, each two storeys high with a basement and one window in the main block, along with slightly lower set back entrance wings. The buildings are finished in stucco with incised lines, featuring angle pilasters and a simple entablature beneath the soffit of a low pitched hipped slate roof that has a box gutter for the main block. The first-floor windows have moulded architraves, with sashes that include glazing bars in the wings and casements leading to balconies in the main block, which rest on canted bays with entablatures. There are steps leading up to half-glazed double doors set in deep panelled reveals, supported by pilasters that hold up an entablature across the bay, with flanking niches on either side.
