Description
These are a pair of semi-detached houses located on Canonbury Park South, dating from around 1845 and developed by C.H. Hill. The houses are constructed of yellow brick with stucco detailing and have slate roofs. They are two storeys high with a basement, and two bays wide.
The basement is stuccoed and features plinths for pilasters with banded rustication, and segmental-arched windows with margin lights. Steps lead to the entrance in the outer bay, which has an architrave with a deep cornice over consoles, a panelled and glazed door with overlight. The inner bay is framed by stucco pilasters, running up through both stories to a shallow segmental arch directly under the eaves. The ground and first floors have flat-arched windows with gauged brick heads. The eaves have been altered on both houses. A party wall is expressed above the roofline, incorporating a central stack. The roof is hipped. Single-storey additions from the 20th century have been added to the sides of both houses.
