Pedestal monument. c1852, possibly by Amon Henry Wilds of Brighton. White marble. Rectangular plan battered pediment with coved base and cornice; inscribed. Set within decorative cast iron railings; asymmetrically placed to include a cypress tree. Gideon Algernon Mantell was a surgeon, geologist, paleontologist and discoverer, with Mrs. Mantell, of the iguanodon.

Included partly for the historical importance of the paleontologist and discoverer, with Mrs Mantell, of the iguanodon.
