Description

This is a group of three early 19th-century terraced houses, arranged symmetrically with the central pair slightly taller and projecting. The properties are numbered 63 to 73 Clapham Road. They have three storeys and a basement. The outer houses are two windows wide, with a one-storey entrance bay on each side; numbers 67 and 69 are three windows wide. The external walls are brick, with parapet fronts. Number 69 has a stucco frieze, cornice, and blocking course. Numbers 67 and 69 feature long first-floor windows that extend to a cill band, and round-headed ground-floor windows set within round arcading, ornamented with a stucco impost string. The basements are stuccoed, as is the front of number 63. Sash windows are set within gauged brick arches, and most have glazing bars. The doors are four or six panels, with the outer doors set within reeded architraves, and the inner doors positioned between slim engaged columns with reeded heads, all topped by plain fanlights.
