Description

This is an early 19th century pair of houses, numbers 32 and 33, located on the south side of Clapham Common. Each house has three storeys, an attic, and a basement, and is three windows wide. The houses are constructed of stock brick, with a recessed section along the central axis, and the outer entrance bays are slightly set back. They feature a stone-coped parapet fronting a slated mansard roof with dormers. Number 32 has a stuccoed basement. The windows are sash windows, most with glazing bars, and set within gauged flat brick arches. Tall wrought iron area railings and gateways sit upon a low stone plinth. The front door of number 32 consists of four panels and is set within a reeded frame, accompanied by impost blocks and a radial fanlight. Number 33 has a half-glazed four-panel door in a similar frame with a plain fanlight.
