Description
York House is an early 19th-century building located on the south side of Clapham Common. It stands three storeys high with an attic and features three windows. The exterior is constructed of stock brick, adorned with a stucco dentil cornice and a blocking course, and topped with a slated mansard roof that includes two round-headed dormers. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are set beneath gauged, flat brick arches. On the ground floor, there is a wide projecting canted bay on the left, featuring a stucco frieze and a parapet. To the right, there is an early 20th-century four-panel door with a low oblong fanlight, which is sheltered by a cornice hood supported by heavy brackets.
