Description

These are a pair of mid-19th century villas, located at 28 and 30 Durand Gardens. Each villa is two storeys high with a basement, and has three windows. They are constructed of stock brick with a stucco frieze, a cornice featuring paired brackets, and a blocking course. The roofs are slate-covered with end chimneys. The windows are sash windows; No. 28 retains glazing bars, while No. 30 has margin lights, all set within moulded architraves and bracketed cills. The ground floor windows have console bracketed cornices. A set of seven steps leads to a half-glazed four-panel door, which is recessed behind a classical surround with a round-arched opening.
