Description
This is a pair of villas, built in the early 19th century. The villas are constructed of red/brown brick, with a stuccoed front facing, and have low-pitched, hipped slate roofs. They have two storeys above a deep basement, with a central stack featuring diagonal brick dentils.
The symmetrical front elevation is organized around a central, narrow recessed panel. The ground floor is rusticated, with a plat band above it, and rusticated end piers rise to the first floor. Four 16-pane glazing-bar sash windows are arranged across the first floor, two to each villa. The ground floor has one 16-pane glazing-bar sash window on each side of the centre, set within an elliptically arched, blind panel surround. The entrances are through four-panel doors, set within round-arched surrounds and approached by flights of steps supported on arches. Basement windows are 8-pane glazing-bar sash windows.
The front has 19th-century railings with spear tops; a gate is located on the right, and railings flank the steps with scrolled ends. The rear has irregular sash window placement.
