Description
No. 79 on Portsmouth Road is a house that has been converted into offices, built in the early 19th century. It features incised colourwashed render and low-pitched hipped slate roofs. The central block is two stories high and is flanked by lower two-story bays, with end stacks on the central range. The first floor has three plate glass sash windows, while the ground floor has two windows, one on either side of a Roman Ionic porch that has two front columns and two pilasters at the back. Above the porch is a parapet with a cornice. Each side wing has double casements on the first floor, set beneath 4-centre arched heads. There is a panelled door in the left wing and a garage door on the right. The building is included for its group value and photographs can be found in The National Monuments Record.
