Description
No. 17 on Bath Road is a house that has been converted into offices, built around 1860 to 1870. The building is rendered and features raised quoins, with a rubble stone wall at the rear. It has a slate roof and two dormers, and is three stories tall with an attic, comprising three bays. The original door is located on the left but has been blocked and replaced with a window. The façade includes lugged architraves and a cornice supported by brackets. There are four Ionic three-quarter columns on raised bases that hold up an entablature fascia. The early 20th-century windows have etched glass and are set in projecting frames between the columns. The first-floor windows are adorned with architraves and pediments. A moulded string course serves as the sill for the second-floor windows, which also feature architraves and key stones. The building is topped with a cornice and a raised central panel in the attic.
