Description
The Haven is a pair of handed cottages built in the early 19th century. The front features incised colourwashed render, while the return walls are made of brown brick, and both cottages have hipped slate roofs. The central block is taller and flanked by lower wings that have battlemented designs and are set back. The cottages are two storeys high with a central stack.
On the central block, there are two 4-centre arched-head casement windows on each floor, each consisting of two lights with intersecting Gothick ogee tracery. Each side bay has one 2-light window on the first floor, topped with a blind 4-centre arched head. The left cottage (No 73) has a half-glazed and panelled door in a flat-roofed 19th-century wooden porch. The right cottage (No 75) features a half-glazed and panelled door beneath an intersecting ogee-traceried fanlight, set in an early 19th-century trellis-work porch that has a spade-shaped finial at the gable apex.
