Description
14 and 15 are a pair of cottages built in the early 19th century. They are constructed from colourwashed squared and coursed grey sandstone, featuring red brick dressings and a rendered gable end on the right. The cottages have a plain tile roof with a catslide over the outshut at the rear.
The buildings are two storeys high and have a dentil brick eaves cornice. There is a brick ridge stack located just off-centre to the left, an integral brick end stack on the right, an external brick end stack on the left, and an integral brick stack on the outshut at the rear.
The first floor has five 2-light wooden casements from the 19th century, while the ground floor features four 3-light segmental-headed wooden casements, also from the 19th century. There are 20th-century half-glazed doors located between the first and second and third and fourth windows, each accompanied by mid- to late 19th-century gabled wooden porches. These porches consist of chamfered posts, curved braces, boarded tympana, and plain barge boards with pendant finials. The interior has not been inspected. The cottages are included for their group value.
