Description

These are a pair of houses dating from the mid-19th century, located on the north side of Durand Gardens. Each house is two storeys high with a basement, and originally had two windows. The houses are linked by a one-storey entrance area. They are built of stock brick, with a slated roof and deep eaves. The first-floor sash windows have glazing bars and are set within moulded architraves with cornices. The ground-floor windows have pilasters and an entablature, projecting cills and cast iron guards. A rounded bow with a cornice on the inner ground floor holds two windows, and the basement is stuccoed. Seven steps lead to the door of the entrance, which consists of two decorative panels, set back behind a classical porch with a round-arched entrance.
