Description

This is a pair of mid-19th century terraced houses, numbered 25 to 31, on the north side of Durand Gardens. Each house has two storeys and a basement, and two windows. The houses are constructed of stock brick, with pilasters having stuccoed capitals to define the wider inner bay. They have a hipped, slated roof with eaves soffits and a central chimney wall. The basements are stuccoed. The first-floor windows have eared moulded architraves. Ground-floor windows have architraves with console bracketed cornices and patterned cast iron guards. All the windows are double-hung sashes, with Nos 27 and 29 having margin lights, and No 31 having vertical bars. Seven steps lead to half-glazed four-panel doors, which are set back behind stuccoed entablature surrounds.
