Description

This is a pair of houses built in the middle of the 19th century, located at numbers 43 and 45 Lansdowne Gardens. Each house is two storeys high with a basement, and features a main block with two windows, accompanied by a slightly recessed outer bay with a parapet. The roofs have a low pitch and are covered with slate, featuring an eaves soffit. The main construction is stock brick with a stuccoed basement. The windows are sash windows: the upper floor windows have broad margin lights, while the lower floor windows have varied glazing patterns, all set within elliptical gauged brick arches – the side bays feature round arches. There are eight steps leading to a four-panel door, which is enclosed by a moulded architrave, a cornice head, and a rectangular fanlight, all within an entablature surround and blocking course.
