Terrace of 3 houses. Part of a planned estate built between 1843 and 1850 by John Snell. Italianate style. Built of stock brick with slate roof and 2 stock brick chimneystacks. 2 storeys, attics and basement; 2 windows to Guildford Road, 7 windows to St Barnabas Villas. No 36 has 2 gabled dormers and 3 storeys with vertical glazing to 1st floor in stuccoed surrounds. Ground floor has 2 sashes with verticals only with cornice and brackets and brackets below cills. porch with round-headed windows. 1 similar window to return. Nos 1 and 2 St Barnabas Villas have 3 sashes with marginal glazing to 1st floor in stuccoed surrounds and ground floor has 2 sashes with verticals only, cornices with brackets and brackets below cills stuccoed round-headed, porches with moulded cornices with brackets, side-lights and flight of steps with cast iron balustrading. Stuccoed bracket eaves cornice and plinth. No 34 Guildford Road together with Nos 1 and 2 St barnabas Villa are identical but a mirror image. These 2 terraces form a vista to Lansdowne Gardens.
