Description
This is a mid-19th century terrace of houses located on Lansdowne Gardens. It forms part of a quadrant-shaped development, one of four similar quadrants arranged around a small circular green space, with radiating streets in between. The terrace comprises numbers 27 to 33 (odd). Each house is two storeys high with a basement, and has three windows. The construction is of stock brick with a stuccoed basement. There is a recess on the party wall. The roof is slated, relatively low-pitched, and features stuccoed dividing chimney walls with modillion cornices. The windows are sash windows with wide margin lights, the ground floor windows being round-headed. They are topped with ornamental cast iron guards on projecting iron bracketed cills. Original four-panel doors are accessed via prostyle Doric porches, with rectangular fanlights above. Number 31 has lost its porch cornice.
