Description

This is a mid-19th century terrace of six houses, numbered 35 to 41, located on the east side of Lansdowne Gardens. The terrace forms a quadrant, with curved front and rear walls, and is one of four similar quadrants arranged around a small circular green space, with radiating streets in between. Each house has two storeys and a basement, and features three windows. The construction is primarily stock brick with a banded stucco basement. Recessed detailing is present on the party walls. The roof is low-pitched, covered in slates, and has stuccoed dividing chimney walls topped with modillion cornices. Sash windows are set within gauged brick arches, with wide margin lights; the ground floor windows are rounded at the head. Ornamental cast iron guards are fixed to projecting, iron bracketed cills. The entrances consist of eight steps leading to four-panel doors, each with a rectangular fanlight, situated within prostyle Doric porches.
