Description
This is a mid-19th century terrace of six houses, number 28 to 34, Lansdowne Gardens. The terrace is shaped like a quadrant, with curved front and back walls, forming part of a larger grouping of four similar quadrants arranged around a small circular green space, with radiating streets in between. Each house has two storeys and a basement, and originally featured three windows. The construction is primarily stock brick, with a stuccoed basement. There's a recessed area on the party walls. The roofs are low-pitched and slate-covered, with stuccoed dividing chimney walls topped by modillion cornices. The windows are sash windows with wide margin lights, the ground-floor windows being round-headed and set within gauged brick arches. Ornamental cast iron guards are present on projecting iron cills. The front doors are four-panel affairs, accessed via prostyle Doric porches, originally topped by rectangular fanlights. The porch from number 28 is missing, and the porch cornices have been lost from numbers 30 and 34.
