Description

LANSDOWNE DRIVE E8 1. 5013 (West Side) ------------------ Nos 172 to 176 (even) TQ 3483 31/312 16.10.73. II GV

  1. Early-mid C19 terrace, each 3 storeys and basement, 2 windows. Stock brick with stone-coped parapet and stuccoed 1st floor cill band. Gauged flat brick arches to sash windows with glazing bars, mostly replaced, in stucco-lined reveals. On front, doors of Nos 174 and 176 of 6 panels, with fluted quadrant pilasters and plain fanlight. On right return handsomer doorway of No 172, up 5 steps with curved wrought iron rail. 6-panel door in panelled reveal with engaged fluted Doric columns, cornice head and patterned fanlight in round arched recess. Cast iron area railings, with spearhead standards and spiral turned urn finials, in front. Patterned cast iron balconies to 1st floor windows.

Nos 172 to 186 (even) form a group.
