Description
No. 170 Lansdowne Drive is a house that likely has an 18th-century core but features a front dating from the early to mid-19th century. The sides and back are rendered and mostly blank, making it difficult to determine the exact date from the exterior. The building is two storeys high and has three windows. The stucco façade includes incised lines on the first floor and banded rustications on the ground floor, which form voussoirs above square-headed openings. It has a fairly high-pitched slated roof with projecting end chimneys. Four Ionic pilasters rest on a cill band at the first floor, supporting an entablature and a blocking course. All windows are currently boarded up. There is a long cast iron balcony on the first floor featuring an anthemion pattern. A central prostyle Ionic porch leads to a panelled door, which is flanked by sidelights and topped with a long rectangular fanlight above a reeded door head.
