Description
This is an early to mid-19th century pair of houses, numbered 19, 19A, 21, and 21A, located on Groveway. The houses are three storeys high, with a basement, and each has two windows. They are constructed of stock brick, with a stuccoed basement and a banded rusticated ground floor. A decorative frieze, cornice, and blocking course run along the top of the facade. There is a recess on the central axis. The sash windows have glazing bars, with cornices above those on the first floor and patterned cast iron guards on the ground floor. Five steps lead up to half-glazed four-panel doors, which are set within a segmental arch. The arch contains pilasters, a cornice head, a plain fanlight, and voussoirs formed from the rustications of the ground floor.
