Description

This is an early 19th-century pair of houses, numbered 51 and 53 Rectory Grove. Each house is three storeys high with a basement, and has two windows. The houses are constructed of stock brick with a stucco frieze, cornice, and blocking course, along with a first-floor band and a basement with incised lines. They have sash windows with glazing bars, set in stucco-lined reveals; the ground-floor windows are within segment-headed recesses. Five steps, featuring wrought iron handrails, lead to the front doors, which are five panels wide, set in panelled reveals with a cornice head and a patterned fanlight (the fanlight at No. 51 is blocked).
