Description
This is an early 19th century pair of houses, located on the north side of Stamford Grove. Each house stands two storeys high with a basement, and features two windows. The houses are constructed of stock brick and have low-pitched slate roofs with a central chimney stack. The slightly projecting, wider inner bays have an arcaded ground floor with an impost band. Gauged flat brick arches feature above sash windows with glazing bars. The windows have projecting stone sills and cast-iron guards with a palmette pattern on the ground floor. A flight of ten steps, accompanied by a cast iron handrail, leads to four-panel doors, which are set within trellis porches with swept lead roofs, and each porch is topped with a radial fanlight.
