Description

This is a late 18th-century terrace comprised of three houses, numbered 14, 15, and 16, Clapton Terrace. The houses are each three storeys high, with an attic and basement, and originally each featured three windows. The exterior is constructed of stock brick with a stone-coped parapet, red brick dressings, and stuccoed basements. The roofs are slated mansard roofs with dormers. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, with those on the first floor of number 15 being elongated. Number 14 features a six-panel door with a fanlight within a panelled reveal, framed by a doorcase with a mutuled cornice and open pediment. Number 15 has a similar door and doorcase, and its fanlight has a patterned design. Number 16 has undergone alterations. The attached side columns of number 16 have been changed to panelled pilasters, adorned with elaborately moulded side cornices and an open pediment over a patterned fanlight within an altered reveal. The terrace forms a group with the Church of St Thomas.
