Description

This is an early to mid-19th century terrace of houses located on the north side of Vassall Road. The terrace comprises numbers 95 to 103, and the end houses have a further, recessed bay. Each house is four storeys high with a basement. The external appearance is of stock brick with a rendered parapet from which the cornice is now missing. The basement and ground floor are stuccoed, with banded rustication creating the appearance of voussoirs around the round-arched and segment-arched window and door recesses. The first floor has long casement windows, each framed by a patterned cast iron balcony that matches the area railings. Other windows are sash windows with glazing bars, arranged in radial or interlaced patterns over the ground floor heads. The upper floors have flat, gauged brick arches. The front doors are six-panel affairs, each with a patterned fanlight above. The outer doors have engaged fluted columns, while the inner doors are topped by dentil cornice heads.
