Description
Nos 88 and 90 on Vassall Road are an early 19th-century pair of houses with some alterations. They each have two storeys and a basement, featuring two windows, with the outer window in a lower, set-back entrance bay. No 90 has a raised mansard roof with a dormer. The buildings are constructed of stock brick and have a stone-coped parapet. There is a stucco frieze on the main block, and the windows are set in two-storey recesses with round gauged brick arches that rest on impost blocks, all above a ground floor band. The upper windows are sash windows with glazing bars, while the ground floor has casements with margin lights and ornamental cast iron balconies, all under flat gauged brick arches. Access to the doors, which have four and three panels with a cornice head and patterned fanlight, is via ten steps that feature a patterned cast iron handrail.
