Description

No. 1 Thornhill Road is a small villa built around 1830. It is constructed of stock brick and features a low-pitched hipped roof with projecting eaves and end stacks. The building has two storeys above a basement, and the main facade consists of a three-window range with 6/6 sash windows. The ground floor has arched openings, with the sashes featuring margin and patterned lights. The doorway is flanked by slim Doric columns and topped with an elaborate fanlight. There is a plat band below the square-headed windows on the first floor. The facade resembles those of houses on Ripplevale Grove, located a short distance to the south.
