Description
22 and 24 Ripplevale Grove are semi-detached houses built between 1839 and 1841. They are constructed from yellow brick laid in Flemish bond, with stucco dressings and a roof made of Welsh slate. The houses are two storeys high with a half-basement and feature two windows each. The outer entrance bay is slightly set back, and there is a narrow stuccoed recess marking the division between the two houses. The basement is stuccoed and has a round-arched entrance supported by Roman Doric columns, topped with a cornice. The entrance includes a fanlight with decorative glazing and a panelled door of original design. The ground-floor windows are round-arched, while the first-floor windows are flat-arched, all featuring heads made of gauged brick and original design sashes. The first-floor windows also have a stucco sill band. The houses have boxed eaves and hipped roofs over the inner bays, with a parapet on the outer sides and a stack on the party wall.
