Description

No. 309 is a villa built around 1850-1860, constructed from gault brick with a slate roof that has hipped ends and a bracketed wooden eaves cornice. The building features four symmetrical end stacks and has a double pile plan, standing two storeys tall. The façade includes three recessed hung sash windows with margin lights set within gauged brick arches. A set of three stone steps leads up to the central doorway, which is flanked by plain pilasters and topped with a canopy supported by console brackets. The half-glazed door is complemented by a rectangular fanlight above it. There is also an adjoining flanking and shaped forecourt wall with piers that are topped with cast iron boss finials.
