Terrace of 4 houses. c1827-32. By William Cubitt. Stucco with plain stucco 1st floor sill bands. Nos 36 and 38 with slated mansard roofs and dormers. Symmetrical terrace with projecting end bays. End bays (Nos 34 & 40): rusticated stucco ground floors. 4 storeys and basements. 1 window each. Square-headed doorways with panelled jambs, cornice-heads, fanlights and panelled doors. Each house with paired pilasters with enriched capitals rising through 1st and 2nd floors to support an entablature at 3rd floor level. Pilasters flanking on each 1st floor a 4-light window with cast-iron balcony; 2nd floor a recessed sash with sill band. 3rd floors with paired pilasters supporting entablatures and blocking courses and flanking on No.34 a recessed sash and No.40 a recessed casement. Recessed central bay (Nos 36 & 38): 3 storeys, attics and basements. 2 windows each. Square-headed doorways with panelled jambs, cornice-heads, fanlights and panelled doors. Recessed sashes; 1st floor with cast-iron balconies. Parapets. INTERIORS: not inspected. SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached cast-iron railings with bud finials to areas.
