Description

Number 31 is an end of terrace house built around 1845 to 1847, possibly designed by William Cubitt. The building is made of yellow stock brick with a stucco ground floor and has four storeys plus a basement. It features two windows, although one is blind. The entrance is located on the Frederick Street facade, while the main facade includes a single window return to Ampton Place, marking the end of the terrace at Nos 4-6.

The house has a stucco portico with paired pilasters that support an entablature adorned with palmette acroteria. The square-headed doorway includes a fanlight, a cornice-head, panelled jambs, and a panelled door. There is a stucco cornice at the third-floor level and a parapet above. The return of the building slightly projects and features gauged brick, segmental-arched, recessed sashes, with the first floor showcasing a cast-iron balcony.

The interior has not been inspected. The property also includes attached cast-iron railings with bud finials surrounding the areas.
