Description
Number 1 is a terraced house built between 1840 and 1850, forming the right side of a symmetrical facade with Nos 46 and 47 Bloomsbury Square. The building features darkened brick with a rusticated stucco ground floor and stucco block quoins. It has a stucco cornice, a blocking course, and a sill band at the third floor. The slate mansard roof includes dormers, and the house has four storeys, an attic, and a basement. There are two windows and a square-headed, recessed doorway with a fanlight and a panelled door. A continuous cast-iron balcony at the first floor level displays a palmette motif. The square-headed, architraved sash windows on the first floor have bracketed cornices. The interior has not been inspected. The property also has attached cast-iron railings with foliated finials to the areas.
