Description
No. 21 Barter Street is a warehouse that has been converted into a training centre. It was built in the mid-19th century and features a stucco exterior with a slate mansard roof that includes dormers. The building is two storeys tall with an attic and consists of ten bays, along with a one-storey extension at the east end. Designed in the Italianate style, it has an arcaded appearance with rusticated pilasters that extend through the ground and first floors, complete with architraves and keystones. The ground floor windows are segmental-arched and have keystones, while the first-floor windows are round-arched. There are former goods entrances at both the east and west ends. The west end now has two-light windows, with a colonnette on the first floor. The first floor of the east end has a similar window, but the ground floor is blind, as is the window in the extension. The interior has not been inspected.
