Description
Nos. 199, 200, and 201 High Holborn is a factory and showroom, now functioning as an office block with a later shop, built around 1870 by WJ Trehearne for George Kent. The building is constructed of stucco and features an Italianate Renaissance style, rising five storeys high. The first and second floors have 12 windows, while the third and fourth floors have 18 windows. The ground floor is distinguished by attached Corinthian columns that support an entablature, which extends upwards as open pediments over arched entrances on the left and right. To the far right, there is a goods entrance leading to Dragon Yard. A 20th-century shopfront is situated between the columns. The windows on the first and second floors are arched and flanked by pilasters that support archivolts. The third floor features drip moulds decorated with lion-head masks. There are secondary cornices at the second and third floor levels, along with a projecting cornice at the top. The interior has not been inspected.
