Description

This barn, located 90 meters west of Shreeves Farmhouse, dates from around 1600. It is primarily timber framed, with most of the exterior covered in 20th-century smooth render, while a small section is weatherboarded. The roof is made of corrugated metal sheeting. The barn consists of five bays and features a central cart entrance with an original gabled porch on the west side. The frame includes a middle rail and one curved brace in each bay. The south gable end has been removed to allow for ongoing agricultural use. Two of the four open trusses still have braces attached to the tie beams. The barn boasts a well-preserved roof with two rows of butt purlins and two-way wind bracing. The farmhouse is not listed.
