Description
This building is a barn located 60 meters north of Park Farmhouse, dating from the late 16th century. It is timber framed and mainly covered in weatherboarding, with the west gable end and part of the north side finished in plaster. The roof is clad in corrugated asbestos. The barn consists of five bays and features a central cart entrance, with boarded cart doors on the south side and a porch on the north side.
The frame is of good quality and remains intact, with a middle rail surrounding the structure. It has reverse-curved braces halved against the outside of the studs, while the tie beam braces have been replaced by knee braces. The bay at the west end was originally floored over and used as stables, and there is evidence of diamond-mullioned windows at the upper level. The roof structure includes clasped and butt purlins, with curved wind braces present in some bays, along with later straight wind braces nailed across the rafters. The farmhouse nearby is not listed.
